Wow, what an awesome Parachute Festival that was eh! Casting Crowns and Cutless filled the main stage out and I've eaten enough donuts to last me a lifetime!

We have now done the final calculations for the donut machine fundraiser and we think we have raised around $4500 for the Vanuatu missions team and our local youth projects. For one weekend that is unbelievable! So a massive huge ups to you guys and girls that helped, you were awesome!

A special thanks to the boys that help do the big setup and Peter & Marina Young who gave extra help throughout the weekend!

Thinking of getting baptised?

As we've mentioned recently at The Reach, we're looking at having a special service for those youth that want to get baptised later this term but if that's too soon for you then we will make another opportunity for you.

It does sound like a number of you are currently thinking about baptism so no doubt there's heaps of questions and thoughts going through you're mind like, "why should I bother getting baptised?", "am I too young to get baptised now?" or "is it the right time for me?"

The best thing for you to do is to talk to your small group leader or any of the leaders you feel comfortable with. Some of the youth at The Reach have already been baptised (e.g. Jo and Donald Burnett got baptised last year) so you could talk to them too about their experience and why they did it.

If though you would rather just think through things first, I've put some of my thoughts in this article.

If you've got any other questions or want me to expand on something, just click on Dr Gav and you can ask it annonymously.

Click on "read the rest" to see my questions and answers. I will update the below as I receive more questions/thoughts.

Have you ever seen the wonderful sight of 2 litres of milk being power chucked from the stomach of Joe? Well that was some of the craziness and fun times at this years end of year youth camp at Highams beach, South Head. 30 or so dudes and lasses convoyed up after crashing BK and Maccas for the good stuff. Everyone got a few scares in the deer shed that night, especially Ruth. Whilst there were no injuries or bulls the game were exciting and team building.

“This year was the first time that KBC had a group going to the E-Camp for Year 7 and 8. What an amazing weekend they all had. It was a privilege to see these children grow in the Lord over 3 days – raising their arms to the Lord during worship, listening avidly to the stories told by Stu Duval, meeting new friends and also having some serious fun. Next year we would like to see 40 children from this community go. One thing that really stood out to us at the camp was that many of the leaders were males and the children really responded to the male role models.”
Caroline and Libby
